School of C Bison Strong on #GivingTuesday HU ! THANK YOU for your generous gifts and all the other encouraging ways you represent and support Howard University ! NCA Tribute to Dr. Melbourne Cummings The National Communication Association (NCA) conference in Chicago included "A Tribute to  Melbourne S. Cummings:  Celebrating over 40 years as Scholar, Professor, Mentor, NCA Leader, and Colleague." Friends, former graduate students and colleagues were on hand for two wonderful panels; one led by colleagues and her dissertation chair, and one of former graduate students, now colleagues in the discipline. Dr. Cummings retired in June 2014 from Howard; however, she continues to reach all of us who have been touched as student, colleague, mentor or friend. Book Notes Dr. Joan Payne , interim chair of Communication Sciences and Disorders was recognized with her new book at the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) conference in Florida.
