SOC Scholarships Winners – 2015 White House Correspondents Associations From left, Jourdan Henry, Brandi Montgomery Professor Indira Somani, and Precious Osage-Erese Congratulations to three School of Communications students that received 2015 White House Correspondents Associations scholarships at the dinner April 25 th in Washington, D.C.   Jourdan Henry , received the Harry S. McAlpin Jr. Scholarship, a one-time award of $7,000; Precious Osage-Erese and Brandi Montgomery  received the White House Correspondent's Association scholarship prize, a one-time award of $7,000. 2015 Paul Robeson Awards Ava Duvernay ,  Selma  director/writer and  Bradford Young ,  Selma  cinematographer and School of C alum, were honored at the 2015 Paul Robeson Awards. The awards event was hosted by the School of Communications Media, Journalism and Film department at the Embassy of France in Washington, D.C. The event included a showcase of the best student productions this year. Also honored were three faculty members, who are retiring at the end of the year:  Drs. Bishetta Merritt, Paula Matabane  and  Lawrence Kaggwa . The committee chair Professor  Sonja Williams  and other faculty and staff helped to make it a memorable event. Congratulations to everyone !
