Homecoming 2019 A Great Time for All!  Alum give Pass the Slate Scholarship Knial Saunders receives his scholarship award on Oct. 10, 2019 Homecoming 2019 was a great success. It was good to see many new and old faces on campus. The Class of 2014 added to the moment with the inaugural Pass the Slate Scholarship Award to Knial Saunders , a senior TV/Film major. Thank you alums Eboni Price, Malon Murphy and Maia Miller  for taking the lead on such a great initiative to pay it forward. Thanks to professors Idit Dvir, Shane Gooding , and Candace Lewis for serving on the selection committee. ### School of C Alum we are asking you to pay it ... Thank you Class of 2014 alumni Ebony Price, Malone Murphy, and Maia Miller for leading such a wonderful gesture and paying it HU FORWARD 2019! Noon-3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 – Alumni Panels in Screening Room West (SCRW), CB Powell Bldg. 4-6p.m, Friday, Oct. 11 , CHSOC Alumni Reception at Masonic Lodge, 1000 U Street, NW, near Civil War Memorial. We will have DJ, food, give aways, small presentation.

Miana Massey  is a new reporter for  FOX4-WFTX in Fort Meyers, Florida.  Alumna Spotlight  Dr. Sheila Brooks, second from right, at NABJ 2019 conference. Dr. Sheila Brooks, received two national awards this summer. The 2 019 Ida B. Wells Award from the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), and the the Cinderella to CEO Award from The  Cinderella to CEO™Awards.  Dr. Brooks is  founder, president and CEO of SRB Communications in Washington, DC.; and an alumna of the Communication, Culture and Media Studies doctoral program.  The NABJ Ida B. Wells Award is given to an individual who has made outstanding efforts to make newsroom news coverage more accurately reflect the diversity of the communities they serve. #ResumeSpeedDating Howard University -- Feb. 8th & 22nd Faculty, Alumni and DMV Professionals, Can you help spread the word about the  “Resume Speed Dating”  event 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.,    Feb. 8 th   & 22nd    in the Cathy Hughes School of Communications in the CB Powell Bldg.
