Dr. Sheila Brooks, received two national awards this summer. The 2 019 Ida B. Wells Award from the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), and the the Cinderella to CEO Award from The Cinderella to CEO™Awards. Dr. Brooks is founder, president and CEO of SRB Communications in Washington, DC.; and an alumna of the Communication, Culture and Media Studies doctoral program. The NABJ Ida B. Wells Award is given to an individual who has made outstanding efforts to make newsroom news coverage more accurately reflect the diversity of the communities they serve. The Cinderella Awards feature women who have "inspiring, modern tales of t
