HBCUs SirruxXM Station
SOC’s own Jay Holloway is HBCU Channel director for HBCU SirrusXM Channel 142. The program is housed with the Howard Radio Network, home of WHUR 96.3FM. The sports world will see our alumni on point for coverage of NFL Super Bowl XLVIII. Six alum: Barry Carter, The Newark Star-Ledger; Jim Trotter, Sports Illustrated senior writer; Steve Weiss, NFL Network; Lemont Williams, Comcast Sports net; Brian Branch Price, freelance photographer, for MC;  and D. Orlando Ledbetter, Atlanta Journal and Constitution NFL beat writer  are set  to cover the event Feb. 2nd.

Connections Make a Difference Today@Apple Sessions The Apple Carnegie Library welcomed students from Howard University's Advertising & Copyright Design and Audio for TV & Film and Multimedia Audio Production classes during the Spring 2020 semester. For more than 120 minutes, students explored how to take a concept for a campaign and map it out with a storyboard using Procreate and practice bringing a storyboard to life using the Trailers section of iMovie. The session was part of a planned three-part Field Trip series (prior to COVID-19 pandemic) in which students explored with Apple staff how to create media for advertising and marketing campaigns in iMovie and GarageBand.
