The late Dr. Lee Thornton was inducted posthumously along with Ernest Dunbar and Zelda Ormes into the NABJ Hall of Fame this month during a reception at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.  The former Howard University School of Communications faculty member and broadcaster died in October 2013. She also taught at the University of Maryland, College Park and Ohio State University. NABJ also inducted into the Hall of Fame journalism trailblazers Bernard Shaw, Moses Newson, Herb Boyd, Maureen Bunyan, and Jay Harris. The Ida B. Wells Award went to Sheila Solomon.


School of Communications $150 for 150th Campaign continues in 2014

he Howard School of Communications Annual Fundraising Campaign:  $150 for the 150th HU Anniversary yearly gift until 2017. We are seeking support from alumni and friends of $150.00 yearly to the school’s annual fund. The gift is restricted to the School of Communications for use with student scholarships, study abroad and programs. The campaign kicked off at the 2013 Homecoming reception.
