Congratulations to associate professor Montré Missouri, of the Media, Journalism and Film  (MJFC) department. Her new book published this summer, Black Magic Woman and Narrative Film: Race, Sex and Afro-Religiosity with Palgrave Macmillan publishers. Missouri teaches in the MFA graduate film program, and is active and folk voice in the film community. Read more at

Congratulations to S. Torriano Berry and his co-author Venise T. Berry, on the publication of the second edition of  their book Historical Dictionary of African American Cinema published by Rowman & Littlefield. Berry is an associate professor who teaches in the film program in the MJFC department.
