Returns to WHUT-TV Following
President Obama Commencement Address


Washington, D.C., (April 27, 2016) – “NewsVision,” a student-produced newscast, will return to WHUT-TV after a hiatus of more than 20 years, immediately following President Obama’s address at the 148th Commencement Convocation at Howard University on Saturday, May 7th.

NewsVision is produced by broadcast journalism seniors in the Department of Media, Journalism and Film in the School of Communications in partnership with WHUT-TV a PBS station licensed to Howard University. The 30-minute newscast is the culmination of content written, reported and produced by journalists in the capstone course of the same name. It is scheduled to air at 12:30 p.m. following commencement. An encore presentation will broadcast at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 8th.
